How did the Brainstorm go?

I implemented the Brainstorming thinkers key which was well received by all the students. I scaffold the lesson by given them 5 topics that they could extend. Our main heading was "The Holiday" it was then broken down in to places, people, food, t.v./film, and transport. The students are accustomed to creating categories as it is a task used in some speech and language sessions with the therapy team.
So the task wasn't overwhelming, I modeled my version on the whiteboard then I let the students pick which template they wanted to use and then they put themselves in to small groups around the building which were supported by the teacher aides. The students were able to write without constraints, they could try and write any and all things they experienced in their holidays.
